Formlabs, a leading manufacturer of SLA printing, expands its product range with 2 new printers based on Low Force Stereolithography (LFS) technology: Form 3 and Form 3L.
LFS 3D printing is an advanced form of stereolithography (SLA) that uses a bespoke system of lasers and mirrors to polymerize isotropic solid parts from liquid photosensitive resin with very high precision.
The main advantage of the LFS process, however, lies in the possibility of large-format jobs. The Form 3L printer uses two light processing units (LPUs) simultaneously. This will mean a print volume 5 times larger than the Form 3 3D printer and the ability to print 4 times faster.
In addition to the new hardware, a new material has also been released: Draft Resin that prints at 300 micron layer lines and is 3-4 times faster than other standard resins, making it ideal for rapid prototyping.
