- After receiving more than a hundred nominations, 77 projects were selected, which were announced during Advanced Manufacturing Barcelona.
- These awards recognise the efforts in innovation, digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability carried out by companies to improve the production chain in its different phases.
- The awards ceremony will take place on 15 November at Advanced Manufacturing Madrid after the deliberation of the jury of experts and the public vote.
Barcelona, 20 September 2023. Advanced Manufacturing AWARDS, the awards organised by the Advanced Manufacturing show, has just announced the complete list of nominees. A total of 77 projects have been selected as finalists to win the award from among the more than one hundred nominations received.
This second edition, sponsored by Emka, a world leader in the locks, hinges and gaskets market, includes a total of seven categories: “Best innovation in product design and development”, “Most disruptive technology in the production process”, “Most innovative technology in composite manufacturing”, “Best automated production and robotic integration”, “Best product testing and quality control”, “Smart factory: best connected production chain” and “Best sustainability and circular economy project”.
The public vote is now available on the Advanced Manufacturing Awards website and its result will count for 20% of the total score, while the other 80% will fall in the hands of the jury of experts, made up of Antonio de la Presilla (Endesa), Antton Meléndez (Spanish Institute of Engineering), Eva García (Repsol), Javier Sirvent, Juan Miguel Poyatos (Escuela de Organización Industrial), Juan Ramón Marijuán (Segainvex), Lucía Bayona (Airbus), Miguel Ángel Granda (Leyton), Nerea Ordás (CEIT), Pedro Romero (Siemens), Rafael Izquierdo (AEMAC) who will have this month to deliberate.
The winners in each category will be announced on 15 November at 16:30 during Advanced Manufacturing Madrid at IFEMA.
The best industrial projects, finalists of the Advanced Manufacturing Awards
All the projects are now available on the event’s website, with a special mention for the “Best Sustainability and Circular Economy Project” category, in which the most projects have been submitted, demonstrating the commitment of the manufacturing industry to achieve more sustainable production models. Some of the finalist entries are the one submitted by Antolin, a vehicle interior roof made from sustainable materials and the reuse of waste from its production or the “Stainless Box”, a healthy and affordable stainless steel container developed by Aperam in collaboration with Carrefour, to preserve and enjoy precious meals in order to reduce the use of plastic boxes in food corners.
Other nominated projects were: Simonrack’s Simonrack Ecofire Fighting spray lance and ABB’s Cobot Arc Welding Package, which welds at the touch of a button, in the category of “Best Innovation in Product Design and Development”; Meltio’s LMD Technology and Evoconstructor®m a digitisation project through 3D printing and robotics developed by EVOCONS in the category of “Most Disruptive Technology in the Production Process”; Markforged’s CFR technology 3D printer with continuous fibre reinforcement and Fairmat’s CFRP recycling solution in the category “Most Innovative Technology in Composite Manufacturing”; Fairmat’s low-cost, reprogrammable and configurable machine vision tunnels. cost reprogrammable and configurable machine vision tunnels from Iveco España in the “Best product testing and quality control” category; the Hermes automation projects by Secpho and Kuik Home by BTV in the “Best automated production and robotic integration” category; and finally, in the “Smart Factory: best connected production chain” category, Moontech Industria Solutions’ entry, “Homigobots”, based on the implementation of AMR-type robots in production plants.
